On 13 June 2024, Julia Kurz from Stadtkuratorin Leipzig met with the Lößing Interest Group for a workshop at the Leipzig child care center (Kinderschutzzentrum) to discuss public space in Lößnig, and collect the group's thoughts on locations, needs and topics. The workshop is part of a series of discussions that forms the basis for future collaborations at the juncture of art, architecture, and public space projects.

The workshop guest was Lea Schleiffenbaum, who presented the ongoing initiative New Patrons (Neue Auftraggeber). She has been supporting art in public space as a mediator on behalf of communities for many years. The New Patrons initiative invites anyone to get involved in commissioning a new piece of art, not just a privileged few. The New Patrons oversee and moderate projects, and usually accompany processes for several years, from the initial idea, to working with the artists, through funding and completion.

Thanks to Lea Schleifenbaum and everyone involved for the mutual reflection and great exchange! We're excited to see how things progress in Lößnig!
