Warming up a stone
Stadtkuratorin Leipzig and the initiative you are warmly invited cordially invite applications to participate in a one-and-a-half-day exchange format on Leipzig's colonial stone. In this workshop, we want to stimulate new ways of contextualising and also artistically engaging with colonial sites of remembrance in Leipzig. The format offers the opportunity to share your own perspectives in a trusting environment using moderated feedback methods, to engage in a collegial, process-oriented exchange and to establish a network on the topic.

FOR WHOM: The project is aimed specifically at people who are already engaged with colonial history, racism and memory culture or who would like to become involved in these topics in the future. This includes activist groups, artists and cultural workers, political and educational educators, academics and interested citizens, with a focus on Leipzig residents with international family backgrounds spanning several generations.
We would like you to commit to the participation on both days of the exchange format in order to engage in a joint collective process. Participants in the workshop are required to see themselves as learners and be willing to engage with each other and learn from each other. You should be prepared to share your own experiences and knowledge, constructively combine different perspectives, and acknowledge ambiguities and differences.
LANGUAGE: The programme will mainly be conducted in spoken German. Some of the content is in spoken English. We will endeavour to provide whispered translation.
APPLICATION: As places are limited and in order to find out a little more about you, we ask you to answer a few questions online in our Form, either as a short text or as a voice memo, in German or English. If you have any accessibility needs or questions, please note this on the form — we will endeavour to find a solution.
