Softer Paunsdorf!
Exhibition & Participatory Programme in Leipzig-Paunsdorf

From 18 September to 1 October 2025, the Paunsdorf District Library presented the exhibition Softer Paunsdorf!.
On display were textile objects and photographs created together with local residents during workshops and neighbourhood explorations. The process was conceived and facilitated by artist Karoline Schneider and art educator Tania Kolbe, who worked with participants to trace memories, favourite places, and spaces of fear within Paunsdorf.
The exhibition showcased the objects, documented how they were made, and provided insight into the artistic engagement with the neighbourhood. The project also included a citywide artistic poster campaign developed together with graphic designer Katharina Köhler and photographer Alexandra Ivanciu.
For the opening on 18 September, we invited visitors to a creative patch-making workshop. Many participants designed their own badge on the theme “My Paunsdorf” and shared their experiences. The lively and diverse atmosphere marked a special moment for the neighbourhood.
