“What Does the Poodle Pony Tell You?” is an art education program organized by the greater form project group and aimed at children and young people in Grünau. We explore works of art in public spaces, of which there are many in the neighborhood. What memories and stories do local residents associate with them? To find out, we interview residents and experts. We’re also interested in: What would the artworks tell us if they could speak—for example, about the neighborhood, its history, and its future?
Our participatory program strengthens cultural engagement, draws on local knowledge, and aims to foster intergenerational exchange in the neighborhood.
On June 13, 2026, we will be at our interview station on Stuttgarter Allee from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. as part of “50 Years – 50 Tables”

“What does the poodle pony tell you?” is part of the educational series for the project “Shoelaces and Poodle Ponies in Prefab Buildings! Documenting and Educating About Architecture-Related Art in Grünau,” launched by the City of Leipzig and the Wüstenrot Foundation to mark Grünau’s 50th anniversary. The project will systematically document, research, and present GDR-era architecture-related art in Grünau and is being developed in cooperation with Stadtkuratorin Leipzig, the City of Leipzig’s Program for Art in Public Spaces, the project group greater form, and the KOMM-Haus.
“What does the poodle pony tell you?” is part of the annual program “Poodle Pony – The City as a Space for Art and Play,” which is funded by the City of Leipzig’s Cultural Office, the State Ministry for Science, Culture, and Tourism (SMWKT), and the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony.
