Softer Paunsdorf – putting softness together
Poster campaign and public space walk

There are many stories about Paunsdorf. Beautiful and stressful, boring and dangerous, big and small. Each person experiences the neighbourhood in their own way.
In a series of workshops at the Paunsdorf Family Centre's Offener Familientreff with artist Karoline Schneider and art mediator Tania Kolbe, we asked ourselves many questions and learned a lot about Paunsdorf from each other over the past few months.
Where are your favourite places?
Where is it not nice?
Where do you have to go without wanting to?
These places were modelled from soft materials in winter handicraft sessions. Doing so, the good places are appreciated and the stressful ones are appropriated and softened. The result is a soft, embroidered, knitted and drawn map of the city from the perspective of the people who use the public space.
A poster campaign shows these soft objects and sculptures together with statements from the project. Look out for our posters in Paunsdorf and throughout Leipzig and join us in a dialogue about softer togetherness in public spaces!
At the end of the poster campaign, we invite you to a performative walk through Paunsdorf on 5 June from 4 pm. We will visit the places where the artworks were created.
Tune in: In the “Paunsdorf Special” of our podcast series, you can find out more about the development of the project in a conversation between Karoline Schneider and Tania Kolbe. (German only)
